I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I have been on 125mcg of Levothyroxine for about 4 years and my exhaustion and weight problems seem to have been solved, but I am going to see the Endo in Feb because I still can't get a good deep nights sleep, I seem to get emotional problems which I have been advised by my GP caused by depression and I have an irregular heartbeat. I am just worried that if I tell the Endo that I am having problems sleeping and have an irregular heartbeat he might decrease my dose, but when the GP deceased my dose last summer it caused me no end of awful problems, I will explain this all to the Endo but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or advice so that I can try to prove these problems need looking into further or suggest something which might help (perhaps a change in meds?).
Any info would be much appreciated,
Hazel.

I also have trouble sleeping, pains in legs and hot flushes all at night time. I only take 75mg Thyroxine. My GP gave me Gabapentin which really helped. However, a side effect is weight gain and depression which I already have due to my Thyroid problem. I have come off of the Gabapentin and have asked to see an Endo because I am fed up with feeling rubbish!

Updated on Jan 13 2011 10:49AM: Oh forgot to mention that the next GP's suggestion after coming off of Gabapentin was for me to take a sedative at night so that I don't notice the other problems!
Thank you Sally, thats ineresting becuase I hear a lot about people getting pains in thier legs and heard its caused by a build up of T4 in your legs because your body is not coverting the T4 to T3 properly, but I can't remember what web site I read it on! If I find it I will send it to you via a convesation.
I am goin to do loads of research before I go to the Endo in Feb and if I am sucessfull with regards to getting them to look into my problems further I will post something on here in the hope that it might help other people.
You might have noticed that I and others have recently been writing in other answers/comments about taking thyroxine at bed time. I and my partner both do that.
To me it seems that doing so has improved my sleep - over not taking any thyroxine. (I went straight onto bed-time dosing when I started so am not comparing with taking in the morning.)
It is possible that you might need very slightly less when taking at bed-time due to slightly enhanced absorption.
