Hi
I wish I could be able to give you some ideas on how to stop the sweating and how to breath properly again but I have been suffering now for the past nearly 10 years and have tried many things but not found an answer, I have resigned myself to feeling like this, at times it gets me down, but having an understanding of why it is happening helps. Yes weight loss happened almost immediately but I also had a lot of food intolerances that would have also been a contributory factor the the weight gain. I hope you find your answers, good luck.

sSweating stopped when I realised I was estrogen dominant and I bought some progesterone cream. (Serenity) Of course the endo told me I| was wasting my money, but it worked for me. He wasn't the one suffering.

Thanks Nel , I would try anything once lol
I will get some in boots later today .

Hi, I don't think Boots sell serenity cream...... google it, mine comes from jersey or guernsey,,,, next day delivery though. It's about £17 for a tub which lasts 3 months.
Nel.
I used to have the sweats - or warm turns as I call them!! - but my endo put my thyroxine up to 125mcg and I'm mainly ok now. As far as the weight gain goes - I put on a lot of weight before I was diagnosed and I also gave up smoking, so those 2 things together added over a stone to my body weight. I joined Slimming World and so far have lost 11 and a half pounds (that half pound is SO important!). It has taken me 14 weeks to do it so I'm not going to lose weight like some people do, but it is coming off and I feel so much better. It might be worth a try for you. Good luck
I have also joined Slimming World recently. The first week I gained half a pound (probably because I wasn't quite sure what I was doing). Last week I'd lost that half pound so really I was at a standstill! I haven't been able to attend this week but I don't feel I've lost anything although another half pound wouldn't make me feel any different I suppose. I'm determined to stick to it and see how it goes as I find the group very friendly and supportive. Maggiet, you have lifted my spirits by saying it's taken you 14 weeks to lose your eleven and a half pounds. So if my pattern is going to be half a pound off per week, so be it so long as it's coming off. I had been thinking that my metabolism had become so sluggish because of hypothyroidism that there was no hope of losing weight but learning of your experience gives me hope. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Hi nanniejan, I get serenity from wellsprings as well. Dr Peatfield advised me and it does seem to help. Hope it works for you. Best wishes Angie x
