Have you tried a colonic to help with consitpation - did it work or not??

I'm thinking of trying this as one of my main problems is consitpation. I know, lovely topic for a Monday morning!

If anyone has tried this though and has any comments, good or bad, I'd love to hear them so I can be at least a bit prepared for what might follow..

hi, i had a clonic massage , as shown on tv for consipation, very hard pressure massage around the belly , quiet painfull , and it did not do a think for me , i was put off having a proper colnic as the dr said there is a small change it can perferate your intestenes, did you get one done ? and if so did it work for you ?

Yes I've had a course of colonics when I was on levo to help me deal with constipation and also SIBO, parasites etc. However constipation is a HYPO symptom, usually a lack of T3. My gastro tells me T3 is essential in peristalsis and gut motility. So in your shoes I'd try treating the cause not the symptom. You might also want to investigate your gut health, thyroid issues can wreck your gut flora - a good probiotic might help, say BioKult or Symprove.

The treatment itself was less embarrassing than I thought and it did provide temporary relief. Now I'm no NDT and off synthetics, I no longer have any bowel issues.
