Hi I have been told by the Doc to increase dosage to 200mg on weekends I usually take 150 does that seem normal?

Is this thyroxine you are to increase at the weekends? What does the doc imagine that will do?

It is Levothyroxine because my numbers are to high this was at the clinic told to go back in three months.Woud I be better off with 175 a day .Thanks for any answers

Levothyroxine lives in the body for weeks and weeks, it takes 6 weeks to build up a store of it, so simply changing the amout you take at a weekend is complete nonsense.

What numbers were too high? Did you remember not to take any thyroid meds for 24hours before a test? OK to take them straight afterwards, but taking them before will skew the results.

Throxine T4 is a storage hormone. If you have too much of it, the body will make reverse t3 to get rid of it. The storage hormone can live in the blood for weeks and when the cells need some T3 they raid the store of T4 and convert it into t3.
