Jazzanne,

2.2 might well be 'normal'.

Your laboratory will have a reference range (something like 0.5 to 4.9). Ask your GP or surgery for that. But I am absolutely sure 2.2 will be well within the range.

Do you have a specific reason for asking that question?

I assume that you did not get a Free T4 test?

All the best

Jazzanne,

Yes - but your laboratory will usually not do a fT4 test with a TSH result so apparently 'normal'.

Why do you think that you have a thyroid problem?

Jazzanne,

That is a jolly good reason - congratulations for checking.

In your situation I would very much wish also to have that Free T4 test - but I doubt you'll get one from a standard NHS GP/lab - not with your near-mid-range TSH.

And I'd also want to have repeat tests regularly - maybe every year? Though your NHS GP may be unwilling to do this.

All the best

2.2 is normal however when we are symptom free that is normal for us I believe. We need to be heard and if you go lower with the TSH to the lowest part of range that may be normal for you. Do you have an auto immune issue or not? Best wishes
