Sertraline : I think I will alternative days 5... - Thyroid UK
Sertraline

As I’ve advised previously Sleepyachy, I would make slow and steady adjustments with your medication.
I’m glad you are feeling a bit stronger today.
Hallo Sleepyachy,
How long have you been on Sertraline?
I was on it most of last year at the lower dose.
Last December I asked my GP if I could move to a different anti-depressant (I'm being treated for PTSD due to post-sepsis syndromey type things). I asked to move because I thought my cough might have been caused by the Sertraline. He agreed and I got moved over to an anti-depressant called Paroxetine. I should say I am also on combined thyroid treatment (100 mcg of levothyroxine and 20 mcg of liothyronine).
Move forwards about one month and I got my hair cut and it was so nice and I got hit with a feeling of extreme joy. And I realised that it was the first time I'd felt any joy all year. I was so shocked, then friends were telling me that they'd left me alone because I was so miserable all the time.
My point here is that Sertraline at a high dose might no make you feel better. I was on the lower dose and I felt so miserable. I also had very low energy (not sure if that was related to the medication or the PTSD or post-sepsis illnesses) but I had to rest an awful lot.
Anyway, sending you big hugs and hope you get things figured out soon.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've been on sertraline on and off few years now. For pmdd. I had about 8 months off but then ma dad passed away so I went bk on it. 2years ago. I told doc I'd up it for now. And see what the hormones and thyroid bloods come back with. I heard that even with permenapausal sometimes it's antidepressants that are offered? I definitely think low in hormones . Low mood . Crying . Fatigue can be linked to all so very difficult.
