Been a while since i have been on here still up and down, I have now been diagnosed with a form of bi polar very mild I have been having mood swings up and down felt like I was going mad after a few years going to Memorial Hospital I was finally diagnosed with this condition I have been taken sodium valporate since September 24. Which has helped, but I am still having issues with my thyroid again tests came back normal Range, I was talking to my consultant and she said the levels were slightly up she is going to send a letter to my doctor to advise her to look in to it further, still not heard,

Are you still only on 75mcg Levo

Unless extremely petite that’s a low dose

How much do you weigh in kilo approx

ALWAYS test early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested

Also both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested at least once to see if your hypothyroidism is autoimmune

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

EXACTLY what vitamin supplements are you taking

When were vitamin levels last tested

ALWAYS take Levo on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour

No other medications or supplements within 2 hours

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
