Hydrocortisone Dose

I wonder if anyone can tell me whether you have to lower a Sick Day Rules dose of Hydrocortisone gradually and not just go straight back to a normal dose. I seem to have read this somewhere, but can't remember where. Will phone The Pituitary Foundation if nobody knows.

Very helpful. Thanks for this information TiggerMe . Still not sure how to go about lowering dose now he has had a week on double dose, so think I will have to get in contact with GP again (does he know, I wonder). It does mention lowering dose though.

hello nightingale-56 I’ve just had to do a 5 day increase double my normal dose for stress days & just got told to go back to normal dose straight away which I have done I’m newly diagnosed with Addison’s disease & there website has been an amazing source of help just like this one for my Hashimoto’s disease & underactive thyroid on here good luck x
