Saliva Gland Tumours.

I'm so sorry if I sound stupid but I'm really worried. My swollen salivary glands have now been diagnosed as non cancerous parotid tumours. He is arranging a scan and needle biopsy to make sure but there is still that doubt there for me. I also have swollen Submandibular glands and subingual glands. They are on both sides. I bought a cortisol saliva test and can't use it at present as I have such a dry mouth. I'm having an ultrasound scan of my neck on Wednesday courtesy of my endocrinologist. They don't know why I have these and I have been telling them for 9 weeks. Does anyone have any experience with these please or have an idea why I have them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated please x

I hope someone will be along soon with knowledge of parotid tumours debsmitch60, to reassure you. I just wanted to say ‘hang in there’ and I hope the ultrasound proves helpful.

All health conditions can be frightening, so it’s understandable that you are worried. From experience, I’d say try not to overdo it on Google Search, as they often show worst case scenarios. Do keep us posted!

Just a suggestion… to alert more members, perhaps repost the above with a new title such as ‘Advice on saliva gland tumours’ (or similar). I think members sometimes skim read titles and ‘home in’ on the ones they have knowledge of.

Sometimes I’ve reposted my own posts on a different day if I’ve had few replies…. Worth keeping this in mind, as I’m sure there are members out there who can offer you better support/ advice.
