I'm on 105 mgs of Armour as a Hypo/Hashi's patient. This hasn't happened in awhile, but today, after getting out of bed at Noon(!) I got the shakes--they've lasted for over an hour. Could this be an insulin dump? I ate mostly protein yesterday and last night. I'm trying to lower my sugar intake since I'm addicted to the stuff. Thank you.

Sounds like it could be a reaction to your change in diet and your glucose levels will have dropped, if your body usually runs on sugar there'll be a cold turkey effect until it switches to another source of energy 😬
Thank you for your response. I have been fasting (8/16: eat for 8 hours, fast for 16) to lose some belly fat. I think that my body went into Ketosis yesterday. I've had the shakiness before when I used to be a runner and a swimmer, but that was in my 40's and 50's when I was in shape. Yesterday, when it was the worst and lasted 5 hours or more, I had an insatiable appetite. Today, I have the mild jitters and no appetite. I will see my GP on the 22nd. He'll probably tell me that I'm Hyperthyroid. 😑
Sounds likely, I really can't do any length of fasting without my body rebelling and like you say triggering a need for carbs which then in itself causes another crash, it could well be that you are slightly over replaced now you have lost 10lbs or could it be your adrenals?
Though yours sounds like an isolated incident, a similar regimen might help to get settled with lower sugar intake:
After having what they called 'non-diabetic hypoglycemia' (my late father had it too - both of us with Hashi's) Dr prescribed a glucose monitor for several months that bore it out.
Would come on after not eating for more than four or so hours. It was recommended to have protein with breakfast (egg or whatever) with small amount carb, small snacks of protein/fat/carb every few hours (recommended something like 2T creamy peanut butter rolled up in a quarter whole wheat lavash with a small handful of salty peanuts and a couple of apple slices), then protein & veg dinner with small amount carbs.
This has kept my glucose low and steady and the 'shakes' are now infrequent. Having the glucose monitor made it very clear what foods were causing trouble - in addition to obvious sugars, anything with rice or corn sent it through the roof!
Thank you so much. I think that I was in Ketosis yesterday for 5 hours. I used to feel the Ketosis jitters when I was exercising rigorously a long time ago. I had oatmeal for breakfast, but added some sunflower butter this time. I did better today, but felt like I was on the edge of Ketosis again. I also purchased some smoked salmon and will add that to my brunch. I try to eat 2 meals per day with some nuts and almond milk in-between. I need to look at a diet in a book about fasting and be more regimented. I'm winging it now and that's probably why I got into trouble. Fasting has helped me lose about 10 lbs. since the holidays. Thank you.
