The University of Cambridge is running a survey - Rheumatology and other autoimmune disease patients’ experiences of symptoms and support - which is aimed at finding out your symptoms, experiences, and views of care and support. This is to gain more information to work together to raise awareness and develop plans to improve the care and lives of people with these diseases.
This study team is led by Dr Melanie Sloan, who has an autoimmune disease herself as well as being a senior academic. Her team is well-known as leading the way in fully involving patients as research partners and changing care by the work they publish. This is only made possible by all YOUR involvement in these studies.
This survey asks about your medical relationships, symptoms, and health. It should take around 30 minutes to complete (you can pause or stop at any time). We are supporting this study as it will raise awareness about important issues and where more support may be needed, but it is entirely up to you whether to take part.
To participate you must:
• Be aged 18 or over.
• Be diagnosed with an autoimmune rheumatological, or other autoimmune, disease. This includes (but is not limited to) diseases such as: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) and other inflammatory arthritis, lupus (SLE), Sjögrens, undifferentiated (UCTD) or mixed (MCTD) connective disease, systemic sclerosis, PMR, Inflammatory muscle diseases, vasculitis, Multiple sclerosis (MS), Autoimmune encephalitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (e.g. Crohn’s, colitis), Type 1 diabetes, Thyroid disease, Stiff Person Syndrome, and other autoimmune diseases
• Participants are welcome from all countries.
Everyone who enters can choose to be entered into a prize draw with two prizes of £200 being drawn once the survey closes (likely Jan/Feb 2025)
