Hi , can anyone tell me the manufacturer of the white carbimazole tablets.
I'm having difficulty getting them as the pink colours don’t seem to suit me. Many thanks to this wonderfully talented community. V

You can find ALL Patient Information Leaflets (and SPC and PAR documents) for all UK-approved carbimazole here:
products.mhra.gov.uk/substa...
It might take a while working through them all! But I do not know companies/colours, I'm afraid.
Someone else might already know.
This list the manufactures
bnf.nice.org.uk/drugs/carbi...
But it will not tell you how to identify the pills. You will need to look at each manufac . Most are white. Some have break line or C or mg strength on pill.
The pharmacist MUST provide a patient information leaflet when pills are dispensed to tell you exactly what is included in ingredient. (And warning / special instructions ect) This is even if two different brands are dispensed to make the correct number.
The BNF lists the *suppliers*. Which includes manufacturers and distributors.
For example, Alliance and AAH do not in any sense manufacture the products. Indeed, Alliance and AAH could be supplying more than one make at the same time.
Absolutely agreed about the PILs - each and every time.
Thank you , such good info. Unfortunately the link seems to have included something else so could you resend please. I appreciate this so much. V
The link posted by PurpleNails does go to the BNF page for medicinal forms of carbimazole. Could you be being misled by the "must read and click OK" document that appears?
Should show list of 39 carbimazole product nhs can obtain from suppliers & distributors. I know you need manufacturing brand, but only way is to know the brand then check pill type.
Some coincidence here, but some time ago I also had a case of shingles when I switch carbimazole brands. I don’t remember what the manufacturer was now, I have had so many!
I have eczema prone skin & went to doctor with what I thought was an odd skin reaction to new pills , The sore / itch was unreal, & I had relatively mild case. My square patch was on back of thigh, & for almost a year after it would start tingling when warm. So no heated car seat. (I know - devastating!)
GP put it down to having 2 vaccinations close together. A short gap is worse than together apparently.
Have you been offered anti-virals, this can speed up recovery of shingles.
If the white Carbimazole you were on, Accord is the brand, and they have been discontinued. I am now on Flamingo Pharma 5mg and having some problems with them.
The Nice website lets you know the ingredients in each manufacturers’s Carbimazole and they vary but hard to know what works best for each individual. I wouldn’t like to take shingles from the medication !Good luck.
