currently on Carbimazole 1.25mg per day - been feeling poop so thought I’ve reduced too much (for context I have no way of knowing whether I’m high or low in the range as symptoms for me are the same 🤷♀️- l I took 2.5mg (half a pill) I feel worse (my body is sensitive to these meds and appears to react quickly to any changes) my face has puffed up even more now and I went to bed at 21:00 and didn’t wake until 05:00 feel heavy and tired and my joint pain was a lot worse
I can’t get a blood test until January and I’ve wasted another £44 on a finger prick test that is unusable - even with assistance I couldn’t get more than a smear there’s no possibility of filling that tube - and that was following guidance and even tried light exercise.
anyway more a grumble than anything because I’m stuck feeling crap until I know which way my bloods are until mid January 😡

I would be contacting your surgery and asking for an urgent blood test if I was you. The drug you are taking can cause liver damage and other side effects. I had to stop taking it because I was covered in hives and when I contacted my surgery they saw me straight away. Please don’t leave this until January.
Aw thank you for responding - it’s not a reaction though that I’m sure of - feeling like I’m either high (quite probably) or low but my symptoms are the same either which way 🤷♀️ … I’m just sensitive to the horrid side effects of this medication. I know people find it to be a life saver but I’ve felt like I’m being slowly murdered on it myself 😂
It’s just frustrating that I’ve yet another Christmas feeling poop because of these meds 😖 not that I’m doing anything. I guess being on my own I can’t impact on anyone else 😂 but was kinda hoping to go for a nice long walk and be in nature or something but feeling rubbish making it unlikely 😔 booooo 😭
I stopped taking it and took PTU instead which is an older drug. This suited me until my Endocrinologist who didn’t monitor me properly let my TSH get too high

So sorry for the delay in responding - what a week?! anyway sounds like you've been through a right ordeal 😔 so I think what's happened with me is I reduced the meds to 1.25mg however, I think it's cutting them that small that might be causing the issue - I think I just need to take 2.5mg every other day - I think it's just disintegrating them so almost like nothing is going in - since I started taking 2.5mg every other day I feel a bit better (as better as I ever get on these meds) :/ who knows - I'm not dead yet so I'm taking that as a good sign 😂
