Do these timings look ok?

JoJoloveschocolate profile image

5am - levo and t3

730am - vit d and k oral spray

9am - omeprazole

12md - zinc

4pm - t3

6pm - magnesium

8pm - spatone iron x1

Not asking for any advice about the meds/vits/hormones I take in this post, just timings only. Thank you. xx

The magnesium is too close to the T3. Should be a gap of at least four hours.

Does magnesium make you sleepy? If so, it would be better taken nearer to bedtime.

Thanks greygoose . No it doesn’t make me sleepy. What time would be better would you say please?

OK, so no point in taking it at bedtime, then. But it should be at least four hours away from T3, and two hours away from iron.

can it be taken with the zinc at 12md greygoose ?

As far as I know, it can, yes. :)

or would it be better swap the mag and zinc so magnesium at 12md and zinc at 6pm. greygoose . Last question…promise!

I don't think there would be much advantage to that. Just increases the number of times you have to remember to take a pill. :)

Very true. Thanks greygoose ! I appreciate your help x

If you wanted to further reduce your pill-taking-frequency (I think lots of us know this feeling!) then AFAIK magnesium is ok to take with vit d. At least, I hope this is so, as I take mine together, after my last main meal (I think this was suggested on the forum but may not remember correctly)

Thank you, Foggy! Good to know that you take yours together. I think I’ll take them after lunch because of juggling timings with t3, meals, iron, and bedtime.( I’m usually in bed ridiculously early these days. )

I don’t know your reasons for taking omeprazole - im sure its already been suggested to try gluten/dairy free to see if you can get off this medication? Helped me - never need to take it.

Can I ask why people are taking the proton pump inhibitors? I thought hypos likely have low stomach acid? I ask as I’ve just been given some for asthma.

I agree. I was given Omeprazole to accompany my strong pain killer (Naproxen). I haven't taken a single one. I'll risk getting a stomach ulcer rather than start on proton pump inhibitors.

Right. Good. Thanks for sharing.

Please make another post to ask that question as this post was purely for me to ask about timings. Thank you

Thanks. I am gluten free.

I have been prescribed ppi twice and had allergic reactions. Long term ppi use also has health risks. But having sorted out my diet I now take pepsin to increase the stomach acid not reduce it.

I’m glad you were able to control your issue with diet and pepsin. As I stated in my original post I am not looking for advice on any of the meds i take at the moment. This post was purely about timings.

Interesting to see your situation with your ‘extras’. I am working on such a list myself right now. Hardly enough hours in the day. Thanks for posting. It’s helpful to others (me) experiencing similar.

JoJoloveschocolate in reply toarTistapple

Definitely not enough hours in the day! You’re so right. And some things need to be taken so many hours apart. it’s hard to work out. I’m just introducing magnesium and zinc so I’ll do that one at a time in case there are any problems then I know which one to blame! 😂

No more comments about omeprazole please.
