The rest of this is a direct reply to TiggerMe's specific point about relationship between colloid cyst and thyroid issues. Not Davina in particular.
The paper linked below is about an extremely rare form of colloid cyst (that is rare even within the rareness of colloid cysts) which affected the person's pituitary - a sellar colloid cyst. This is relevant to our thyroid context, is a recent paper (2023), and adds some contextual background - and is open access.
Davina has been remarkably open (which is very welcome) but I have not noticed detail such as exactly where it was found.
Obviously we could speculate on how a sellar colloid cyst might interact with thyroid management (primarily TSH secretion) and other pituitary hormones.
Note that the paper includes photographs taken within the operation. If you want to avoid those, do not follow the link.
Sellar colloid cyst: Peculiar radiological characteristics of a common lesion at an uncommon location.
Many things are classed as rare but then if you don't go looking... it was shear fluke that she happened to have a brain scan as part of filming for a menopause programme which might well have saved her life π³
p.s. I shall save your link until after breakfast π
