Hey there again :
RAI thyroid ablation is a slow burn so your descent into hypothyroidism maybe very subtle -
but it will happen over a period of weeks or months and you will need to take T4 thyroid hormone replacement to build back up your thyroid hormones as your own thyroid will have become totally burnt out and disabled in situ :
RAI is known to trash vitamins and minerals - of which ferritin, folate B12 and vitamin D are essential to maintain at good solid levels as if low can compromise your recovery and health further than necessary.
So suggest you get these run next time around - and post the results and ranges on here and we will advise if anything needs supplementing -
It is not just about being in the ranges - but where in the ranges you are likely to feel at your best.
Onwards and upwards !!
I love reading notes like this. I have to stop myself from writing them myself or I think I’d write one every day. So grateful, I’d be wasting away without everyone here.
