I have read in some of the chats that it is not recommended taking a multivitamin and especially not one with iodine. Are there particular supplement(s) & brand(s) that anyone can recommend please (for vitamin d and whatever other supplements that I should be taking) ? I’m on T3, with no thyroid or parathyroid glands, female and in my 60s (eek). I am very active. Thank you

Its recommended to first get your vitamin levels tested and then you know what needs supplementing, by how much and then in turn you can retest to ensure your supplements are being effective and your levels are optimal.
Private tests are available, see link for companies offering private blood tests & discount codes, some offer a blood draw service at an extra cost. thyroiduk.org/testing/priva...
There is also a new company offering walk in& mail order blood tests in London, Kent, Sussex & Surrey areas. Check to see if there is a blood test company near you. onedaytests.com/products/ul...
There are other companies such as Randox that are cheap too.
Only do private tests on a Monday or Tuesday to avoid postal delays.
I’ve just been taking a multivitamin for 50+ which has folic acid of 300ug. However, I have accidentally bought vitamins which include iodine so I’ll stop taking them.
It’s a minefield knowing what supplements that you should be taking for optimum health benefits.
I’ve never felt 100% after having covid 2 years ago.
Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc
Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the ‘Better You’ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150. Most people need a minimum of 3,000iu per day.grassrootshealth.net/projec...
