no symptoms : my daughter has been advised she... - Thyroid UK
no symptoms
Glutenfreebabe, if you can post the thyroid test results (with accompanying reference ranges) that have triggered the doctor to say your daughter may need to start on thyroid medication, members will be better able to discuss this with you.
There are so many different symptoms with hypothyroidism and members may experience adverse symptoms to greater or lesser degrees. I actually lost weight and had more ‘hyper like’ symptoms (such as tremor, palpitations etc) but thyroid antibodies showed hypothyroidism/ Hashimotos.
Do ask your daughter to ask for a print out of her results to share.
thanks buddy I’ve just uploaded screenshot of her T3etc results . She had a lot of other tests but there in Austrian.
You need to show the range with results. They can vary between labs, but also can use different units. They may also vary between countries.
For some reason we can only see part of the screenshot. Could you have another go? We need to be able to see the laboratory reference ranges preferably.
TSH should always be under 2, so above indicated thyroid is struggling. If in UK normally require 2 significantly elevated TSH tests before medication suggested.
As a first step, I would test folate, ferritin, B12 and vit D (which all support thyroid health) and check thyroid antibody levels. I would then share these results in a new post to alert more forum members.
