I've just noticed a member described as "Ambassador".
Is this new?
Please can anyone explain this new designation in relation to TUK/ the forum
Just curious!

Very observant of you DD 😊
The admin team have, for a long time, found it impossible to keep up with the fast flow of posts and replies in this very busy forum. Posts get missed, replies get missed, and that's not nice for the members who've reached out to us, especially if they are new to the forum. So, we have recruited a couple of 'helpers', which HU like us to call Ambassadors.

If it helps the admin team I'm in favour, but I think the title should be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Do they get a complimentary box of Ferraro Rocher? m.youtube.com/watch?v=4P-nZ...
That is so funny... the first thing that popped into my head too 🤣
So, what's the difference between and admin and an ambassador? And why not just recruit more amins? Just curious.
Intermediate... just a badge 🙂
To paraphrase Lady Bracknell, "Just a badge!"
When the messages from admin came out last week about the volumes of messages they were dealing with daily (which looked pretty unsustainable to me) I asked if there was anything I could do to help within my skill set (which obvs isn’t admin standard) so I now have a list of jobs I can be helpful with, rather than just randomly chipping in.
'the difference between and admin and an ambassador? '
Ambassadors don't have the power to put you on the naughty step 😀 Ambassadors are our extra pairs of eyes, ears and keyboards. The idea is that they can help with replying to posts etc. and if they notice something that needs an admin to help with, or to intervene, they can alert the admin team.
This is new to Admins, and obviously new to Ambassadors, so please be kind and patient whilst we trial this.
'why not just recruit more amins? '
Ambassador is effectively a precursor to full Admin status. It's the 'admin recruiting' route currently recommended by HealthUnlocked.
Perhaps less misleading and less grandiose...Administrative Assistants.
Just a thought!
Scouts seem to like Ambassadors... I guess if HU have chosen there's not much to be done about it without upsetting other forum users
