I posted a while ago about my thyroid blood test results, and got some great replies from you. ThanksAt the gp yesterday, after a diagnosis of hypothyroidism, she started me on 25mg levothyroxine daily, to be reviewed in 8 weeks.
Small starting dose?
Possibly because of age, 66, and underlying stage 3 kidney disease.
My question is, can I take this at night?
I've read conflicting opinions.
I have my other meds, candesartan 4mg and dapagliflozin 10mg, both for the kidneys, a cup of tea and some biscuits about 7.30pm so would it be OK to take levothyroxine at 10pm with a glass of water.
The reason I'm asking is I took my first dose this morning and I'm feeling a bit tired and dizzy
Thanks Susan

Should be fine, as long as its two hours after food or one hour before, we have several members who prefer nightime dosing. I take mine in the early hours when I get up for the loo.
I'm a hot drink junkie and would be permanently attached to an IV drip of tea/ coffee if I could. I've found taking mine during nightime means I dont worry about caffeine interfering with absorption. Or other medications/ supplements.
I agree with SS, I used to take mine at night, I've switched to 6am as I take magnesium at night now and I don't want to reduce absorption. I have my first food/drink an hour later at 7am ish.
Just remember when you are doing a blood test that you need 24 hours from last dose, so you may need twiddle a bit to get that right.
