Hyperthyroidism and periods

Hi has anyone noticed spotting with hyperthyroidism? I've been on sayana press progestogen only injection for 4 years and not had a period in that time. But the last few days I've been spotting.

Worth getting anything unusual and out of the blue checked out. Ask your GP or even better Women's Health Practitioner/Nurse if your GP practice has one.

I have Hashimoto's so spent some of my time pre diagnosis in a hyper state. When hyper my cycle extends longer, when hypo its shorter, I do occasionally get spotting linked to ovulation which apparently is normal but is always a surprise for me.

When misdiagnosed as perimenopausal in my mid 40s and put on HRT with progesterone I had 2 periods a month as my thyroid and sex hormones did battle with the HRT.

Have you had your TSH, FT3 and FT4 tested recently? It might be worth doing to see where you are on that. 🌱
