Urgent Blood test and scan

Morning, following on from my post a few days ago about my private blood test results, I have this morning had my GP appointment. She has requested an urgent blood test which I have to attend at 9.40. I have also had a cup of coffee at approx 6.30am this morning. Previously members of the group advised testing before 9am and no food or drink except water. Will this affect my results much?

Hi , no it won't affect results very much. The reason for 9 am fasting is because TSH can be reduced slightly by eating breakfast/ coffee, and also because it naturally gets lower over the morning . This may matter for borderline TSH results that are only just over range but in your case since TSH is very over range at 17 this small difference is going to be insignificant.
