I haven't been here for many years. Doing well generally.
Thought I would share a simple thing I tried a good while ago now, but it has made a huge difference to my health.
I simply split my T4 dose into 2 portions per 24h. I do 75mcg at bedtime and then 50mcg approx 12h's later. So bed for me is around 11pm and so I take my day dose at 11am.
I split it this way more for convenience. If I was on 150, I would probably do 100 and 50, for example.
I would be interested if anyone has any ideas why splitting the dose works better than just taking it in one go. It really has helped big time.

Good to know it is working for you, I always suggest to people try splitting their dose or try different timings before increasing as it can make all the difference... often less is better but finding your rhythm is key
Like you many find bedtime dosing works better than morning where as others find they can't sleep if they do it that way... it's so individual, I guess this is down to how quickly we absorb and utilize the hormone as some get quite a rush and others zilch, also how sensitive we are to it... so many variables
Personally one dose T3&4 works best for me as I need less T3 that way and it's more effective 🤷♀️
As soon as I saw your name I realised I'd not seen you here for some time. Glad to know you are doing well.
I've tried all sorts of timings of T4, T3 and now NDT + T4. I really like a bit of T3 at bedtime, but I find taking NDT at bedtime a nuisance because I like a snack before bed and that interferes with the absorption. I am currently splitting 1 grain NDT + 50mcg Levo at 8am and then take my second grain of NDT at 5pm. I'm still far from suitably dosed really. I hope one day to find that I can take some extra T4 at 5pm.
All in all I've not found timing makes much difference to me. It's the hormone itself that is important.
I tried splitting my levothyroxine dose. It helped me a lot. Splitting reduced spiking after taking levothyroxine. Now I get no spikes and feel great. I was also prescribed T3 liothyronine and I split that dose also. These days I feel fab and energetic. Prior I felt dreadful and could barely walk it got that bad. I do believe your body would not make t4 or t3 in one batch a day so splitting your dose must help.
I don’t have the science to support this but you’d think it’d make sense to have a steady flow throughout the day. Eg, most of the dose in the morning, a smaller dose around lunchtime and an even smaller dose at bedtime
Would be interesting to hear others’ experiences, so thank you for opening up this discussion which will provide food for thought for many and I’m very glad you’ve had success
