I've just had blood results following a small rise in my Levothyroxine dosage prior my reading was 4 ( 0.6- 6) range now its 4.7 same range. I wasn't expecting a massive drop but was surprised that it has risen, is this usual while adapting to dose changes.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated

it can take a while for TSH level to stabilise after a dose change , how long had you been taking the higher dose for before blood test ?
p.s i'm surprised to see any labs are still using that 0.6 -6 range ..is this an NHS GP blood test ? my area used that range... about 20 yrs ago .... most NHS labs have different machines nowadays , which use TSH ranges that are more like 0.4 -4 ish
TSH over 2 suggests you need further increase in dose of levothyroxine
How much was dose increased by
Retest again 6-8 weeks after next increase
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
The rise is so small as to be insignificant. And progress is not linear, it can go up and down. Plus, so many things can affect TSH levels it really is a very bad indicator of thyroid status. So, nothing to be worried about.
