Just started on 2 grains of Armour NDT, 3 weeks ago. I have been taking 1 grain first thing and 2cnd grain between 2-3pm as advised by Thyroid specialist. (Prior to this I was on 87.5 Levothyroxine and 10 Liothyronin.)My health has dipped a bit over the last few days plus my body seems to have difficulty absorbing nutrients, etc. I have also just started taking digestive enzymes 4 days ago.
So just wondered if it's possible and safe to take the 2 grains of Ndt at the same time on waking, instead of twice a day, to see if this helps with absorption of the medication.
Thanks

You can take it any way that works best for you. Some do take it all in one go, but the majority find the high T3 'hit' too much, and feel better spreading the dose out over the day.
As Redapple says, different people find different ways work for them. I tried splitting mine, but for me personally I found it tricky from a lifestyle perspective with my work (hard to take during the day with the job I do, having consistent access to the medication at a good time).
What I have found works for me is I put my doses into a dosett box that I bought at the pharmacy, a week at a time. I always tend to wake between 2-4am to go to the bathroom. I usually take all mine in one go (2 grains plus 25 Eltroxin) then as I know I have an empty stomach. I then go back to sleep and when I wake up I can have my morning cuppa straight away as I need to be out the house promptly for work.
I think the secret is to find what works best for you and don’t be afraid to trial different things if one option isn’t working - good luck!
Milburn13 Reading Paul Robinsons book (CT3M) due to his observation that most T4/T3 conversion seems to happen at just that sort of time (when healthy people do their conversion) Buttercups you could be on to something here.
I have been waking at 3am ish for more years than I can remember. It’s a common time for people suffering depression (thought I was) it’s common for diabetics too. However in the end it’s been hypothyroidism.
You can tell I am experimenting myself with taking my Levothyroxine monotherapy at the moment, trying to squeeze as much as I can out of my thyroxine prescription, since I can’t get a T3 prescription.
Like you I've begun taking my thyroid meds...Erfa and levo...when I wake between 2.00 and 4.00 am for a bathroom visit. Over the 4/5 weeks I've been doing this I've noticed I seem to be absorbing them better, and feeling the benefits. Oh Wow! A big positive to having night-time wake ups
I have not been doing this for long and only with a tiny portion of my day’s levo. Now getting 6 hours sleep in one go which is a massive improvement for me. Keep reporting.
I had to split the dose initially or I felt wired but after some time on it (may be a year or so) I was able to take it once a day. Just try it, it clears away quickly if you find it doesn’t suit you can go back to2x a day
