Tips for Apt with NHS Endo

Hi All, hope you are having a good day. I’m a few months into taking Thybon Henning T3 only and I finally think I have found a medication that is working for me. Less anxiety, pain and I’m generally coping better.

Any tips on how to persuade the NHS Endocrinologist to potentially prescribe Thybon Henning for me? My private Endocrinologist thinks I won’t get it, but thought it worth a try. Is there a letter of some sorts or any other ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Few get Thybon Henning prescribed on the NHS.

The general principle is that products which are not licensed in the UK should only be prescribed on the NHS under exceptional circumstances. (And being less expensive isn't sufficient grounds.)

A prescriber would have to write explaining their justification in each case. (Repeat prescriptions should be OK but you might have to get another letter from time to time.)

Thank you for your reply helvella. A previous NHS Endicrinologist did say he was happy to have a conversation after I told him I was seeing a private endocrinologist re Liothyronine. It looks like I am seeing someone else this time. I will ask if they will prescribe for me just on the off chance. I am pleased to have your reply so I can anticipate the response. Thanks again.
