I'm reading that LDN can help with hashimotos. Has anyone had any experience with this?Just curious as it's an American Dr who's saying it can help.

Thanks

Hi Tinks,

Not sure why no one has replied yet? There are members here that take LDN; maybe they didn't see your post?

I'm interested in LDN too as I have other autoimmune issues on going but not Hashimotos. If no one replies maybe do a search of Thyroid UK and then you'll be able to read other posts regarding it.

Hi, so glad it's working for you. How did you manage to get it proscribed? What the dose and how does it make you feel, if anything? Everything I'm reading about autoimmune/hashimotos is people hitting a brick walls in regards to access to treatment.

I simply can not afford private and im coming up against resistance already. I had to fight to get my antibodies checked by my endocrinologist, and my GP is refusing me treatment for my overt symptoms for hypothyroidism.

I've insisted I need my thyroid bloods plus my T3 checked again, so I guess I'll need to wait for that.

Thanks

Dicksons chemist are my prescribers. Was simple phone consultation and set up a Recurring payment via their portal

So you didn't need a prescription from a doctor?

No. It's being used as off label so NHS won't prescribe.Have you looked at the LDN research trust website? It explains all and links to Dicksons chemist for referrals
