I am 18, male. I don't take meds, drugs, substance, caffeine, alcohol and currently relaxed since Im on vacation. I eat well and stay hydrated and make sure results are more or less consistent.

My bp is 110/75 when relaxed, slightly anxious 128 and anxious 130-140. When I lie down its 90/50 when I stand its 95/65 and my pulse goes to 140bpm, my pulse is around 100bpm most of the time, but when my bp is 128bp it goes to 120bpm and when anxious it is 130-150bpm my pulse drops to 70bpm before bed. I am a fit guy who cycles, runs, swims and does 12 pull ups per rep, but struggle to put on weight even when I eat around 4000kcal 17bmi but quite tall, I have a weaker kidney from birth but I have no anemia or problems in blood test. When I went to doctor my pulse was 150bpm and I did an ECG and there were no arrhythmia just sinusal tachycardia. My resting heart rate has increased gradually from 80 to 100 in 6 months.

I have had eye problem for 4 months+ a pressure under my eye, the ophthalmologist couldn't find an issue, I sometimes loose vision in one eye, I don't lose vision but the colours change to brown and I see complex patterns all over visual field that are multicoloured but not like migraine. It happens sporadically around 0-3x a year with first happening at 15. It resolves in 5 minutes. I get similar thing when I stand up fast, however this is in both eyes. I always saw spots in my vision as a kid (constant ones) like high iso camera but in this year the sky is no longer as blue as it used to be. Now it has sparkles and small flashes like lightning. When I look at squares they move around and flash. The closest thing I could find was VS, its not floaters. I get migraines like my brother and father ever since I was a kid. In separate occasions I get a booof sound in one ear and loose my hearing and then It comes back.

The only medical condition anyone in my family has is congenital heart disorder asd that my brother was diagnosed at 24.

I think it's all related. I have booked appointment GP I only take medical advice from real doctors. It takes a while tho thats why I write this. I used to have a doctor that waited till I relaxed and said I was fine, the other doctor took one reading and said I needed Ramipril, thats ok if I need it fine, I'm not against it, but since my bp is very often 110 I told her that I probably wouldn't need it so they took me off it when I showed the BP readings. I never ended up taking it.

Welcome to forum

This forum is a patient to patient forum, no one is medically qualified.

If you suspect a thyroid issue the best step is to test thyroid levels.

TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone)

FT4 free thyroxine

FT3 free triiodothyronine

I also recommend you have thyroid antibodies tested. TPO & TG antibodies. As you have increasing heart rate & eye issues i would say it important to test TRab. As this can show if you have Graves associated antibodies. Which can cause high FT4 & FT3.

It does sound like migraines & I found migraines more frequent when thyroid abnormal.

I thought it could be related to thyroid. There is only one way to find out. I prefer it if the doctor reaches that conclusion tho, as it might be rude. Hopefully my doctor can check that out. It's in a few weeks. It's not a problem since I'm not ill, just tired in afternoon. Given the visual thing is constant I don't think its a migraine but thanks for your insight. When my colour vision goes completely brown and see patterns it comes on suddenly in 2 seconds and gets better in 5 min ,same with hearing. Can't find anything that is similar online so I wrote this to see if anyone could relate.

To investigate thyroid causes, get the blood tests Jaydee and SD listed.

For the eye patterns - have you googled ocular migraines? Geometric patterns and glittery light patterns and the like..

Also get vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin levels tested

Plus coeliac blood test. Inability to maintain weight….suggests possible gut malabsorption issues

Make sure you eat high levels of gluten in 6 weeks before testing.

Thyroid tests should be early morning

I suggested you come over here and read, not so much to diagnose you or to pre-empt your doc, but so you have some background information. If your doc is any good then they’ll do a full blood count, renal, liver profiles, and also after taking a brief history as you’ve given here, they’ll include at least TSH, hopefully TSH and T3/4.

Once you have those results, if it does turn out that you have thyroid issues then you will need to advocate for yourself, and to do that you need information. This is by far the best place to get that information.

Thanks. I have read. I told my doctor about the pressure eye problem and she said I needed to wait 6 months for ophthalmologist. I went private for 100 pounds and told her nothing was found and she said wait for a 2nd opinion, at the time I asked for a scan or blood test but she couldn't give me one. Next time I will talk about all the other stuff that has developed hopefully that will be enough to get a specialist. Hopefully its not something seroius like blood not going to my head, thats why I asked for scan.

Remember this is a thyroid forum. There is a lot of collective experience and wisdom about thyroid, hence the recommendations to get the particular blood tests listed in the posts above.

You already noted you will defer to your doctors, and as noted above none of us are doctors. Further, the only experience that we can share is when various things relate to a thyroid issue.

For example - with a thyroid issue there are a thousand things that could be addressed by optimizing thyroid. For many of us our migraines and headaches get better, our joint pain, our skin issues, cholesterol, eye problems, hearing problems, heart rate, palpitations, brain fog - you name it - when hypo all of these can be a direct result.

If you have no thyroid issue - then none of this is at all relevant to you. If you have no thyroid issue, then all your symptoms are caused by something that none of us here have experience with.

If you share results of the blood tests listed above, you will get excellent shared experience about what might be thyroid-related.

Just worth saying since you are new here - you already know none of us are doctors but without thyroid info we really shouldn’t say anything about all the various symptoms you’ve listed.
