reducing T3 and increasing T4 as advised

I posted by bloods a while back and was advised to reduce my T3slightly and increase my T4 slightly. I dot like having to cut my T3 into quaters. Can I take 50mcg one day and 37.5 the next day. I am taking 75mcg levo one day and 100 the next so could take the higher dose of t4 on the day I have less T3.

No! T3 dose must be consistent.

T4 and T3 work differently in the body

Use a pill cutter or a craft knife and store the remaining bits in a little pot for the next time....practise makes perfect! You need to use a quick.sharp hit when cutting.

I cut T3 in quarters with no problems

essential to take same dose T3 every day

As DippyDame says it’s possible to cut T3 into 1/4’s

I find sharp craft scalpel easier than a pill cutter

If I remember the liothyronine half life is about 2 days, I cut one of my 25mg in half and space the half dosages out to get and average of 21.42mg per day, ideally I would like exactly 20mg per day but I cannot source the 20mg tablets, it's not ideal but I feel OK doing things this way

So you are taking the same dose each day (21.42mcg.....note...not mg) as SlowDragon and I advised.I doubt the extra 1.42mcg daily will rock the boat!

Glad you feel.OK

Yes I am taking an average of 21.42mcg over 7 days, 5 days at 25mcg and 2 days at 12.5mcg

Ah, so not the same dose every day... I misunderstood your explanation You might feel much better than just OK if you did take a constant dose...quite a drop from 25mcg to.12.5mcg, then back up again to 25mcg

For good health every cell in the body needs an adequate, steady and constant supply of T3

It's your body so the decision.is yours. but I know I would suffer on that protocol...I'm on high dose T3-only and a steady dose is essential.

I agree, it would be much better but unless I can get the 20mcg tablets cutting is not really practical, I might use this as a way to hopefully get my GP to prescribe the 20mcg tablets

 Morphiouso

as you a different person from  Hectorsmum2 who asked the original question

It’s often confusing if you ask similar questions on someone else’s post

I think perhaps DippyDame thought you were the original poster of the question

Private prescription not that expensive now for Thybon Henning 20mcg T3. Cost is £60-£80 per 100 tablets

No... I realised Morphiouso had jumped into the OP's post....His dosing protocol wasn't totally clear when I read it....bit of a bug affecting concentration today! Grrr! Hectorsmum2 the OP, seemed happy with our advice!

I am indeed a different person, I didn't ask a question it was more of a reply to the original OP
