i have recently seen my endo who has prescribed T3 40mcg. (Thyjj be in Henning). Am expecting it to arrive today from Roseway.
I have been reading Paul Robinson but wanted to know if anyone out there has advice on whether to continue with Levo at same time. Endo. says i should.
reason for seeing endo again is that i had a stroke in February and have read that a stroke can reduce yourT3 levels. I have to confess that i should have gone back to see specialist before now as 100mg levo really hasn’t been helping me.
really appreciate any thoughts. Thanks

Was most recent test done as recommended early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Which brand Levo is your 100mcg
Do you always get same brand Levo at each prescription
Exactly what vitamin supplements are you taking
We strongly recommend only ever starting T3 very very slowly
Initially adding just 5mcg waking
(cut 20mcg into 1/4 with sharp scalpel to get 5mcg)
Assuming this goes ok ……..adding 2nd 5mcg dose 5-7 days later in mid afternoon
Wait at least 4-6 weeks for this to settle
Ideally retest thyroid levels before considering increasing further
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Hi, My endo and nearly all the literature advises the combination of Levo and Lio. Although saying that I’m struggling with the tsh level but I have a further complication of DiO2 polymorphism. My endo was quite happy to leave my tsh very low but it was pushing me into being hyper.
Have reduced t3 with gp so hopefully in a few weeks the test will show an increase of tsh to nearer to 1.5-2.
