Not sure if this is thyroid related and will be speaking to the GP but wondered if anyone has found their heart rate randomly spiking while at rest? I have a Garmin watch and it has been alerting me to sudden HR spikes while at rest, for example >100bpm whilst sitting in a cafe having brunch post parkrun or randomly while sitting on a train. Any ideas? Could this be related to thyroid / dosage of levothyroxine?

Hi there, you can search this forum for words related to heart racing, palpitations, etc and find many with similar experiences!
I haven’t read any of your prior posts, so don’t know your history or blood levels. And any time I share my experience or worry about this I always make sure to emphasize that just because thyroid issues or sub-optimal hormone replacement or dose changes can indeed “cause” these sensations. Of course it’s possible to ALSO have actual heart problems.
So that being said - I will share my latest post about my experience just this week… and moreso you’ll be interested in some of the replies I got that are very relevant to your question.

Are you on GF or Dairy Free diet
Presumably you supplement vitamin D
Do you take a separate magnesium supplement
I am currently going through this as well as flutters. Being investigated by doctor still.
