Advice re first blood tests after adding in T3

How long should I wait before taking my first blood test after adding in T3 and reducing thyroxine? What timings should I follow re taking my meds? I'm currently 5/6 weeks in of adding 5mcg of Roma T3 in hard capsule, which I take at 7am. I take my thyroxine at 11pm. I was taking 6 x125/1x100. Endo wanted me to reduce to 100 daily and to come back in for blood tests in 6 months.

I've not done that however as you guys suggested I probably didn't need to reduce. But to show the endo I'm listening to him and as historically I've not reacted well to big increases/decreases, I've reduced my thyroxine to 3 x 125 /4x 100. He didn't seem positive about adding in T3, saying it only helps 5% of people and if I feel worse to reduce my thyroxine.

My plan is to have private blood tests done, then hopefully someone can advise me where to go with doses.

So far I've noticed a few swininging symptoms of brain fog, dry skin and slowed digestion, but nothing too bad and it seems to have mostly settled now - although my eyes look/feel tired - this has always been an issue when not on a high enough dose of thyroxine. I'm hoping this goes the longer I'm on this dose otherwise I wonder if it needs to go back up slightly, but early days I guess. The positive is I'm sleeping well for the first time in 3 years and definitely have more stamina 😁

Suggest you get tested 6-8 weeks after starting

Also test vitamin levels if not tested recently

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

obviously not easy to split a 5mcg capsule…..

After the blood test first thing, can I take the levo and T3 together? Or should I space out?Thankyou!
