Just posting this as I havent seen anything about in on the forum. Thyroid UK are looking for case studies as part of International Awareness Week kicks off with World Thyroid Day on the 25th May 2024.
Thyroid UK is holding a webinar on World Thyroid Day (see below) but we also want people with thyroid disease, their families, friends and colleagues to raise awareness by using our hashtag #betterthyroidhealth on their social media pages with a suitable comment relevant to their situation.
Thyroid UK would also like people to send us their stories so that we can use these to campaign for change.
We need stories that show:
• how long it took to get diagnosed with a thyroid condition and the reason you were given for not being prescribed treatment
• you have unresolved symptoms on levothyroxine and what you have done to try and change this situation
• your GP does not want to increase your levothyroxine even though your TSH is not optimal
• you have had your liothyronine (T3) withdrawn since the latest set of guidance from NHS England and the British Thyroid Association have been published
• you have been refused T3 since the latest set of guidance from NHS England and the British Thyroid Association have been published
• if you have been refused T3, was it your GP or endocrinologist that refused to prescribe it and what was the reason given to you
• if you have been referred to an endocrinologist for a possible trial of T3, how long it took to get an appointment
If you wish to tell us your story, please go to our “Share your Story” page on our website: tinyurl.com/tuksharestory
Please spread the word on your social media by using the hashtag:
#shareyourthyroidstory
