Although clarified in the full text, I don't think it right to put "Eye bulging" in the list of symptoms of hyperthyroidism in the poster page/image. Thyroid Eye Disease can occur in hypothyroidism or euthyroidism (no thyroid hormone problems). And you can be severely hyperthyroid (e.g. from a toxic multinodular goitre) or severely over-dosed and not have TED or any other form of eye bulging.

Definitional update:

In my view "hyperthyroidism" describes a condition in which the thyroid gland is producing and releasing too much thyroid hormone. That is, the "thyroid" part of the word directly applies to the thyroid gland itself.

(I would include cases where ectopic thyroid-hormone-producing tissue produces excess thyroid hormone. A very rare disorder.)

The result of that is excess thyroid hormone in the bloodstream and the consequent effects of that.

Excess thyroid hormone such as from an overdose has similar effects but it NOT hyperthyroidism.

It is better called "over-dosed" if from taking too much thyroid hormone medicine.

The state of suffering from an excess of thyroid hormone being called "thyrotoxicity". So much that it has toxic effects.

Or, more specifically, too much thyroid hormone in the blood being called "hyperthyroxinaemia".

If anyone disagrees or has better words or definitions, please feel free to reply. I'm only claiming my definitions are better than those used by JAMA and Pearce. Not that they are the best of all possible definitions.
