Guideline 29

The Thyroid UK forum guidelines are always accessible on this pinned post:

We ask that all members read them and very much hope you do so. However, in time, we can forget what was there, or misremember, or whatever.

Hence, I am posting this short reminder of the guidelines in full.

And (today) of this specific item:

29. Do not post offers to sell or give away your unwanted medications or over the counter supplements. Similarly, do not post requests for medications or over the counter supplements from others.

There are many reasons for this guideline - not least that supplying others with medicines is against the law in the UK. (Except by one of the specific groups allowed to do so like doctors and pharmacists.)

Within the official distribution chains, medicines are maintained within approved environments (temperature, humidity, etc.).

Non-UK products might not be packed in UK-approved containers, or not have official English-language documentation (box, packet, label, Patient Information Leaflet).

If there are any problems with non-UK products, then it is an extra layer of difficulty for anyone trying to help whether medical (e.g. a doctor) or official (such as trying to put in a Yellow Card report).

Note that HealthUnlocked’s own guidelines also apply:
