The London Clinic -Endocrinology ??

Just wondering if anyone has seen an Endocrinologist at the above?

No mentioning of names please but just wondering if anyone found this place good?

I am London based but struggling to figure out who/where would be a decent place to go for endocrinology.

Thanks!

If you have personal experience that you'd like to share with GreenTealSeal, it would be best to discuss privately via message. That way you can say things that are not permitted on forum, should you want to.

Isn't this the one the King and Princess use?

HAHA! Is it?! Probs out of my price range then 😅

Just struggling to find an endo with a good rep- I’ve asked about a few from the thyroiduk list but no one replies so I assume they can’t be that good then!

it is the London Endrocine clinic not the London Clinic and I have attended there !

A general comment. The London Clinic is an excellent hospital, efficient and reassuringly expensive. (The comedian Charlie Drake said 'The London Clinic is so posh they give you two anaesthetics, one for the operation and one for the bill').

Doctors do not work for the Clinic, they elect to carry out their care there, in particular for the quality of nursing care. As for using a doctor at the LC in general they will be good but of course there is a wide variation of medical opinion, so it's more important to select the doctor than the hospital. These comments apply to most of the 'Harley Street' clinics in London.

Lol to that quote!!

Yeah I’m just having such a tricky time choosing and endocrinologist- feels like a complete shot in the dark and when you’re paying for it that isn’t a good feeling at all.

I have the endo list from thyroiduk but even those seem to have very mixed reviews or no reviews at all so it’s proving very tricky!

I was worried this would be the case so thank you for saving me some money!!

It’s so hard to know who’s worth seeing and who isn’t!?

Yep I hear ya! When i mentioned adrenals to the gp this morning he just looked at me blankly like that had absolutely nothing to do with it…but had no other suggestions.

I’m just waiting for them to try and tell me I have fibromyalgia and leave me to rot but I’m not accepting that!!

If you're really lucky they might add CFS or hypochondria into the mix as well. I've never used and Endo, private or otherwise and am probably better off for it, but paying for an opinion doesn't necessarily mean you'll like it anymore than the free NHS one.

Oh yes, pretty sure I’m already down as a hypochondriac…and CFS was mentioned as a reason for why my thyroid function was off prediagnosis.

I despair at this point but gotta keep trying! You’re defo right when it comes to medics!

I suppose at the very least if I go private I’d get an opinion I probably won’t like but much sooner than the nhs one 😂

Yes they love labelling us with CFS or Fibro, because they are untreatable, waste basket diagnosis and get you out of the door. And once they are on your record everything gets blamed on it, from an ingrowing toenail to a brain tumour.

You will never be taken seriously again by any medic. And if they can add anxiety or depression into the mix so much the better. I'm at the stage that unless its life threatening I avoid doctors like the plague.

Don’t forget the “Somatoform Disorder” … sounds impressive but really means it’s all in your head! 🙄

Yes dont they call it Functional Neurological Disorder nowadays, a nice fancy name for Frankly No Idea.
