Just an update as saw consultant for my first endo apt on Thurs. He has started me on Csrbimazole 20mg daily. He said I’m not a clear cut case as presenting as Hyperthyroid from results (see previous post) but my Trab was negative. He did say these antibodies are positive in most cases of Graves and if positive give a clear diagnosis but that 10-15% of people with Graves can still be negative.
He acknowledged he doesn’t have an answer and it could be Hashimotos but that at this stage the best thing is to start treatment as symptomatic and at present clearly hyperthyroid and review in 6 weeks when either my levels will have plummeted and indicate Hashi’s/another cause or else they will show likely Graves. He believes small cysts found on ultrasound were incidental and not the cause.
I did appreciate his honesty and felt he was thorough. I guess we see what happens next.

The dose of the AT drug will semi-block your new daily thyroid hormone production so just keep details of symptoms relieved - and possible new symptoms being experienced.
I think your T3 and T4 were not too far off being in range when you last posted -
so if your T3 and T4 remain too blocked for too long -
you risk your T3 and T4 falling too far through the ranges and you experiencing the equally disabling symptoms of hypothyroidism.
I think SDragon has already gone into considerable detail explaining the importance of a strong core strength of vitamins and minerals in your last post :
If you go into Thyroid Uk - the charity who supports this patient to patient forum -
there is more information regarding both hyperthyroid and hypothyroid health issues and causes - and there is a very detailed list of the symptoms of both - that you may experience - which might help you identify where you are in all this -
and yes, it's not that simply as some symptoms can be both a hyper and / or a hypo symptom.
Glad you had a good appointment though I don't understand the thinking -
as with over range and positive TPO and a negative TRab why does your endo want you to remain on the AT drug.
