Its bordering on too much and you probably are wasting some vit D spray as you don't need a level that high. Optimal is said to be 100-150.

How much are you taking of what spray?

You can calculate how much you need to take using this calculator. grassrootshealth.net/projec...

I take the highest strength that we sell at Holland&barrett which is 4000iu through the winter and 1000 - 2000iu in the summer

Seems you dont need so much in the winter then.

Suggest reducing to 3,000iu or drop 2 tablets a week and retest in 3 months.

I have just been looking back on old blood tests and iv found a vitamin D test done in July 2017 this was at a time I knew nothing about my hashis and did not supplement anything at all!! the level was at 98 does this mean I do not need to supplement in the summer?

To understand how much vitamin D you need you need to test it twice a year at least in the early days of supplementing.

It may be that you only require a relatively small amount but you can only find out by testing both winter and summer.

Vitamin D is NOT a water soluble vitamin. When there is excess, we can’t pee it out … and in the case of vitamin D it will settle in your blood (calcium build up called hypercalcemia), your kidneys (calcium stones) or bone pain.

The calculator that Jaydee shared is one of my favorites : ) but I’m not sure how you would go about calculating reducing your D.

How much do you take daily, for how long, and what/when was your prior D result?

My last vitamin D check was about 5 years ago and it was only at 50 and that was in the peak of summer hence why I now take high strength in the winter and take some even all year round 🤷🏻‍♀️

5 years is entirely too long between tests, and you shouldn’t be guessing how many iu’s based on the highest available given the toxicity of too much D.

I’m not sure how you’d calculate - but you should reduce your daily, maybe skipping some days for a short period of time, and then test again until you bring yourself down.

The you should look at the calculator link Jaydee shared and calculate your maintenance dose.

Thank you I have tried to use the link above to the calculator but i am just trying to figure a way of using it to calculate reducing 😂

I think I may have to stop the vitamin D for a week or so then resume at a lower level 😅

Yes, I’m not sure either but I would do the same thing.

The key will be to test again soon enough so you don’t go too far reducing : )

But that calculator will help find your maintenance dose later on!

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function.

There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7.

One spray = 1000iu

amazon.co.uk/BetterYou-Dlux...

Suggest you reduce to 1000iu per day for a month

Then increase to 2000iu per day

Retest in 2-3 months
