hello,

I am on 100mcg and weight 9 stone 10.

Have been on this dose for over a year.

Aged 38, not peri or meno as far as I know!

As a rough guide it's about the right dose, do you take it on an empty stomach an hour away from food and drink? Looks like you aren't absorbing it very well...

Have you had any blood tests for folate, ferritin, B12 and Vit D as these need to be optimal to make good use of T4

Hello

Yes I take every morning an hour before food, multi vitamin and only with water, don’t drink coffee until over 1.5 hours later.

I haven’t had any other tests for vitamins completed but recently picked up some vit b complex plus vit d just out of pure desperation!

Ok, so you could do with increasing your dose by 12.5mcg per day and retest in 8 weeks, do you have enough 'in stock' to do this without having to bother with the GP who will likely only look at your TSH and say your fine 🤬

Multi vits aren't much use as they don't tend to have enough of what we need and they mix things that counteract each other...

B complex and Vit D with K2 MK7 are a good start

Hi,

Could you explain why to increase by 12.5? If the tsh is low?

Thank you

Because TSH is the opinion of your pituitary which may not be functioning well and your actual thyroid hormone levels are too low, so to feel well you need to raise your fT3 & 4 levels.... fT3 being the active hormone.

You are showing signs of being a poor converter as your fT3 is lagging well behind your fT4, as a vague guide people often need fT4 around 70% with fT3 above 50%

This is very helpful thank you!

Trying to get an appointment but obviously like getting blood from a stone. I hope to have some clarity soon.

Thank you for your input- hope to update after a few weeks to see if there is any improvement

Prepare for a battle as they don't like to look beyond TSH, they should be treating your symptoms but doctoring by numbers is riff... suggesting a trial increase sometimes works but if that fails get your scripts filled asap and add a little extra yourself 🙂 I'm afraid many are kept ill due to low TSH
