Hypothyrodism in pregnancy
I was diagnosed while pregnant, and unfortunately I had an early miscarriage.
My advice is have your GP refer you for a preconception endocrinology appointment (depending on the endocrinologist you could have more than one appointment), as per guidance (it’s not in the NICE guidance but actually in the CKS pages), make sure you have good nutrients and thyroid levels pre pregnancy, and when pregnancy is confirmed have your thyroid hormone test immediately. Some people are advised to increase dose when pregnancy is confirmed, some are not, so it’s up to you how you handle that.
Good luck!
I was diagnosed 12 months before becoming pregnant with my 2nd child. I'm sure I was hypo before the 1st ( vitiligo and tirdeness), compelet exhaustion after the birth but put it down to lack of sleep . 2nd pregnancy was placed under care of gynea consultant and TSH monitored regularly. Different post birth experience in terms of fatigue.
Both kids are now in 20s and neither have been diagnosed with hypo, although I do think my eldest ( 27) and male has symptoms. He has bloods done and tested but never obtained his results!
