Hi, my latest thyroid results are as follows:
T4: 15.7 (12-22)
TSH: 2.22 (0.27 - 4.2)
T3: 4.0 (3.1-6.8)
Results from 5th Jan 2024
T4: 14.1 (12-22)
TSH: 4.36 (0.27-4.2)
Have no recent T3 results to compare latest results with as Gp doesnt test for this., my latest results are from my NHS endo.
Im currently taking 50mcgs of Levothyroxine since 25th January and was taking 25mcgs from 24th November 2023.
I think these are positive results that mean Im moving in the right direction?

Think you might need to edit your T4 and TSH results both show 4.36?

I just increased to 50mcgs on 25th January - would it not be too soon to increase again? Is T3 result low?

I increased dose tp 50mcgs myself as appointment with endo wasnt until 7th February - they said it was good I did that and back to see them in 6 weeks again to see if need to increase the dose. Im taking Vencamil brand of Levo and it is much better than the Teva I was on before. I weigh 59 kilograms. Thanks

Guidelines suggest 1.6mcg per kilo per day as eventual dose
So eventually likely to be on slightly under 100mcg per day
59kg x 1.6mcg Levo = 94.4mcg per day
94.4mcg x 7 days a week = 660mcg
So
75mcg x 7 = 525mcg
100mcg x 5 days plus 75mcg x 2 days = 650mcg

if only just increased to 50mcg
Yes retest in 8 weeks
Are you on same brand Levothyroxine as before
Reply (1)Report
TSH is over 2 so yes increase to 50mcg was correct
Retest again in another 8 weeks
Always test early morning, ideally before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose Levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Likely to need further increases over coming months
Approximately how much do you weigh in kilo

TSH 2.22 mIU/L (0.27 - 4.2) 49.6%
Free T4 (fT4) 15.7 pmol/L (12 - 22) 37.0%
Free T3 (fT3) 4 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 24.3%
T4:T3 Ratio 3.925
Yep moving in the right direction, bit odd to test after only a couple of weeks on a dose... you'll be ready for the next test and probable increase end of March 🤗
