I posted recently about starting Thybon. I’m back with another post , feeling very despondent.
My t3 was 2.6 (3.1-6.8) while t4 was about 17. (12-22) It was suggested I start slow and add 5 initially to the 112 eltroxin dose and increase when tolerated to 10. I began and although my energy lifted and fatigue lifted I felt really bad brain fog/dizzy/detached symptoms 2 hours after taking Thybon, which would settle after a few hours. Increasing to 10 made it way worse with added sweating.. I tried lowering to 2.5, but the same brain fog/dizzyresult. I had to stop Thybon again as this brain fog was impacting my work significantly. Any clues or suggestions? I’m going to an Endo on Tuesday and thinking of asking for a trial of Armour. Would that be easier to tolerate? I’ve also sent away for a saliva cortisol test.
I took Thybon for many years on and off , since 2015 and always struggled with brain fog symptoms. Doc would raise it. No improvement. Tried naturethyroid and it was well until it was no longer available. Npthroid did not have the same effect and was often not available here so I went back on Thybon and Eltroxin. Brain fog returned. An endo I saw last year in relation to Empty Sella, suggested I stop Thybon and t3 would rise naturally. It didn’t ! But the awful brain fog symptoms stopped! Anybody ever had a bad reaction to Thybon?
I also am supplementing with methyl folate sublingual (Biocare) 400mcg plus added folate in a Biocare Vit B multi and after 8 weeks my folate levels are still only 9. They refuse to budge and never have been higher than 13. Any clues?
THANKYOU

Thanks Slowdragon - No I started on 5 as suggested here and after a week added 5. Then brain was so bad, I reduced to 2.5 morning and afternoon which didn’t make a difference to brain so I stopped. Maybe I need to go back and try again at 2.5 morning and afternoon.
Ferritin now 76
B12 now over 1,000
Folate a stubborn 9
Any suggestions for raising folate? Methylfolate 400 per day sublingual plus 200 in a methyl B complex is not shifting the level after 8 weeks
do you split your Thybon dose and leave 8hrs apart. This is important!!
Your symptoms sound like over medication if it’s a couple of hours after taking the Thybon. What was your T3 level before you added Thybon and what is it 2hrs after taking the Thybon??
