Hi all, I wanted to ask . Thyroid has been removed and been on thyroxine 10 years. Is there a way to stop , take a natural form? Feel ita not good for my body.. feel weaker each year. Love to hear some thoughts or personal expirience 🥲
Can it be done?: Hi all, I wanted to ask... - Thyroid UK
Can it be done?
Hi Contra
Just had a quick scan of your past posts (not all) but enough to understand you have a lot going on. All which has to be taken into account and considered.
What were your last thyroid blood test results (with ranges)? Do make sure everything you share is anonymised.
Can you expand on your symptoms?
Have you checked vitamin levels?
If we are deficient in any vitamins no amount of Levothyroxine will make you well or anything else for that matter. I was deficient and getting everything up high mid range has been transformative.
How much do you weigh and how much levothyroxine are you on?
So you have had thyroid removal and gall bladder being removed - where are you at with the potential MS diagnosis? I really feel you need to read a book I am currently reading.
Tears behind closed doors. I’m three years into my thyroid journey and wished I had read it at the start….
If you are not feeling well you need to understand what the Levothyroxine is (or isn’t) doing, before jumping onto something else.
Hi Charlie, and hi Contra
I want to read that book but cannot find it anywhere.I think it is out of print?
I don’t know if thyroid UK have it in stock- let me go and have a root around on the internet 🤗
It's available new on the Thyroid UK website :
thyroiduk.org/product/tears...
It is also available second-hand on Amazon UK
I always go to ABE books or WOB (world of books). Second hand books rarely can’t find what I need.

If you Google ‘tears behind closed doors’ it brings up quite a few search results 😉👍
Worth shopping around and factoring in the postage - they don’t always make it easy to directly compare.
