hello, I am a 45-year-old female with congenital hypothyroidism. I have been on levothyroxine my whole life. For the last 10 years or so it hasn’t worked. My life is passing me by, I am sleeping most of the day, in constant joint pain and suffering from headaches.
I need to try another way so if you know of one I’d be v grateful.
I know admin will close this post to replies but if you could respond in messenger I would love to hear from you!
Thanks all and stay happy!

Please can you give us any ( recent) lab results that you have, including ref ranges.
How much levo are you taking/ prescribed?
This helps us understand what is going on, and if T3 or NDT might be more suitable for you.
Have you optimised vit D, vit B12, folate and ferritin....all vital to support throid function
This is not a brush off ....it's just that members are more inclined to share sources on the basis of background information which currently isn't available.
It would help if you add this info to your bio
Sorry you are having such a difficult time....correct diagnosis and appropriate medication should help.
I will leave this post open for now, so that you can reply with more information about your current medications and thyroid test results. That will enable people to offer help and support.
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
