T3 and testing protocol - can I please clarify timings?

I started taking T3 approx 8 weeks ago and I slowly built up to my current dose of 9mcg. I’ve been on that since 5th Nov (in addition to 62.5mcg of levo).

I’m planning on testing over Xmas but wanted to clarify the protocol with regards to withholding T3. Am I right in thinking that testing should take place approximately 12 hours after last dose of T3? Which means splitting the dose, even though I normally take it all in one (in early hours)? It’s the dose splitting when it’s not normal practice bit which confuses me!

Yes it confuses me too!

The answer is it depends who you are testing for? If it's for your own use then set your own rules if you are interested in seeing your peak then 3-4 hours after usual dose, if it's for sharing with medics then splitting and 8-12 hours post T3 and 24 post T4 dose will give you your lowest reading throughout the day and less risk of having a dose reduction forced upon you 🤗

I used to do a private test on the same day as an 'official' one but aim for peak reading so I had a better idea of what was happening

Does the same apply for levo then, last dose same day if self-medicating? For consistency’s sake?

Always leave 24 hours after last dose of T4 it just saves any possible blip... it's a storage hormone so fluctuates less so just take it after you have made holes in yourself 🙃
