Supplement with muscle relaxing effect?

Can anyone suggest a supplement that has a gentle muscle relaxing effect and is safe to take regularly, but only on an as needed basis? Something that acts a bit like diazepam but is non prescription and non addictive. I realise I might be asking for the impossible!

A few ideas in this link:

medicalnewstoday.com/articl...

As always, we need to question the sources of the information! (I don't like the site because it is so pushy about cookies, etc. - I open it in a private window.) And I suspect none of them will really have the required effect but maybe you will be lucky with one of them?

Do you supplement with magnesium StitchFairy? I take this around teatime as it helps me relax on an evening. I take magnesium glycinate as I find this easy on the stomach, but many other types are available. For any spikes in anxiety I’m a fan of Bach Rescue Remedy drops.

thanks for the suggestions. Can you use the Bach Rescue Remedy more than once a day?

NOW Foods True Calm might be worth trying for you.

Good compatibility: Now Foods True Calm is characterised by good organic availability and is suitable for a vegan lifestyle

High quality: Now Foods GABA capsules are tested in independent laboratories for quality and purity

No undesirable additives: True Calm by Now Foods is gluten-free and made without genetic engineering

Original product: the recommended intake differs from the US consumption recommendation*** due to the German and European guidelines. Please consult a doctor or alternative practitioner for an individual intake recommendation"

(I'm not in the UK - the above is from Amazon Germany)

I've checked the US recommendation - ***Take 1 capsule 1 to 3 times daily, preferably on an empty stomach or just before meals.

I wouldn't do that - Valerian root needs some caution. If you want to try it my recommendation would be to take one in the early evening when you know you don't need to venture outside.

I took this supplement in about 2008 I think - one capsule early pm was very effective.

I need to re-read this when I'm a little less brain fogged, but thank you, it looks promising.
