Which numbers are you trying to improve with food?
If you're talking about your bone scan, then it would be a good idea to get your vit D retested because skimming through your past posts, I get the impression it was low. Did you ever supplement that? Did you take vit K2 and magnesium with the vit D?
To be able to make any suggestions of any ustility, we really need to see blood test results for thyroid and nutrients. To have good bones you need optimal thyroid hormone and nutrient levels.
Yes, i was talking about bone loss numbers. Yes, taking vitamin D and magnesium. Endo is pleased with my thyroid numbers, a repeat blood test in spring is scheduled.
I was planning on starting a viramin/ calcium to increase bone density but decided to eat more foods with calcium like milk, yogurt, sardines, turnips etc. Total calcium intake should be 1200 mg per day!
I appreciate your looking back on my history. Thanks again!
You're welcome. But, best to avoid calcium supplements because they're not well absorbed and tend to build up in the soft tissues and arteries. Besides, too much calcium will make your bones brittle, which is not what you want. Calcium is not a cure, nor a prevention of osteoporosis. Magnesium is far more important.
By the way, you say your endo is 'pleased' with your thyroid numbers. But they are your numbers, not his. Are you pleased with them? It's you that has to live with them, after all, not him.
Hi suzi you could buy oximeter £3 or so from temu or other sites with free delivery to check heart rate and Google search will tell you if you need to worry about tachycardia Hope you have merry Christmas
I have been taking Teva Levothyroxine since June 2021. I also have Hashimoto’s. I have not noticed any palpitations. I take 100mcg and 75mcg on alternate days. I use the BetterForYou spray Vit D +K2. 3 sprays inside of cheek daily and absorbs faster this way and not going through the digestive system.
I agree with greygoose you need to be happy and feel well with your thyroid results. We are all different and in terms of dosing too.
