Air Purifier Advice

This may be off topic bit I have Hypothyroidism and also have a rare blood disorder that can react to viruses and want to try and get back to a more normal existence after having the latest flu and COVID boosters. Does anyone have any experience of using an air purifier in the house to help prevent contracting viruses from other people visiting. I realise that if someone has a virus and is shedding a large amount of molecules it is a big ask of a device but I am more interested in non symptomatic people who feel OK. I realise they too can be contagious.
