I’m back 😵‍💫

Mediocre news. been on 60mcg t3 for a while and while it works & have come back to life there are issues. Bloods showed slight hyper so dropped to 50. Genius Nhs refused to test free t3 & ran tests for t4 which of course I don’t have because I don’t have gland anymore (and as private tests overseas discovered 15 yrs ago I am lousy converter anyway thus t3 / prev dessicated).

Bad news. turns out hair loss isn’t menopause it’s autoimmune & thus possibly not coming back, scalp is horrendously itchy & bumpy. Lopsided face was probably also autoimmune. now have signif sun allergy. system still a mess & I remain desperate/ despairing/ isolating from COVID. As we nhs thyroid victims know while endos apparently do not, depriving long term hashis/ thyroid patients of medication for many yrs isn’t too bright.

So, solutions…

Other practice GP asked me to recommend an endo who understands autoimmune so I can have a second opinion. Can anyone recommend an endo good with hashis beyond Levo? Guy I found is in Taunton /not possible.

Does anyone have a supplier for dessicated that doesn’t require script? I need to get off synthetics befor rest of hair gone. also need extra stock for move period - nhs refusing to provide.

good news. re menopause/sleep. Having tried everything & not slept for 3+ yrs I started melatonin drops 6 weeks ago. Pre-meno all my life was weird short, deep sleeper & within days was almost totally back to normal. I tried everything, incl cannabis drops, so frustrating that all the advice for women is breathing exercises etc yet good old melatonin did it. My body is madly catching up, still need afternoon power nap etc but relief is massive. so tired I slept most of last 18 months!!! So, I recommend trying melatonin - it can’t harm.

As you have asked for both Endo & NDT supplier information, these have tobe via personal message only as we are not allowed to discuss either in the open group.

I will therefore lock this post but I would suggest you start another post to discuss your latest blood results for both thyroid and vitamins to see if any improvements can be made there.

You can email info@thyroiduk.org for a list of T3 friendly Endo's.

You are advised to get full thyroid profile bloods done to include TSH, FT4 & FT3 + vitamins ferritin, folate, B12 & D3 and antibodies before your appointment to avoid wasting your first visit.

When you receive a message with a recommendation, please do not assume it is genuine.

Scammers are joining the forum on a very regular basis and messaging members with their assertions that they have successfully purchased xyz medication from zyx source.

First, check the profile of the member that sent you the message. Are they a long term member with an active forum posting history? Or are they a recently

joined member with little or no posting history?

Once you have what you think may be a genuine recommendation, please message a forum admin to ask whether the admin team have any feedback on the source you've been given.

Admins are not allowed to recommend sources, but we can tell you what, if any, feedback we've received about the source you've been given.

⚠️ Don't part with your much needed money until you are as sure as you can be that the source is genuine.

Scammers often join the forum and post a 'fake' story about their thyroid journey, that includes mention of self sourcing their thyroid meds. This is to encourage members to ask them where they purchase their medication without prescription.
