Test results 🤨🧐

Morning all,

Thought I’d share latest results- In all honesty I’ve not felt so bad mentally in a long time- between this and being menopausal hormones are nightmare not to mention weight gain☹️😭I’ve just had enough since diagnosis I feel I’m on a hamster wheel part of me wants to stop medication as Idont think I can feel any worse ! I feel so fed up- constant joint pain , headaches and horrible moods I’m stuck.

I’ve looked at my diet which is on the whole healthy- I cannot afford to go gluten free but live a low carb diet- take all the recommended supplements , walk daily ( which is painful) just at a loss ☹️☹️ thanks for allowing me to offload 😉

Cripes 😩 I'm not surprised you feel crappy... lets ignore the TSH as it's doing you no favours, you are still very Hypo

Free T4 (fT4) 15 pmol/L (12 - 22) 30.0% (Guessed the ranges)

Free T3 (fT3) 3.9 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 21.6%

So you likely need to get both above 50% before you start to feel any improvement and then it's a question of tweaking to get to your happy place

Have you any other test results for ferritin, folate, Vit D, B12.... see if the supplements you are taking are hitting the spot?

Low carb won't necessarily be a good thing 😕

6 months ago your fT4 was in a better place, think you might have been on 150mcg T4 and 20mcg T3, though B12 and ferritin a little low, how did you feel then? Did you refuse the T4 reduction? What are you currently on?

Thanks so much for your reply 🙏, Endo has said to reduce Liothyrine to 2.5 x twice daily blood test your referring to I was on 20 twice daily, Levothyroxine is now 125 mon_fri reducing to 100 on Sat& Sun .

To be honest I didn’t challenge him as he has been the most helpful he’s the endo who got me funding for Liothyrine, I don’t think vitamin levels were tested- I take Vit D3, Iron, magnesium, Zinc , Turmeric, daily & now added Selenium & milk thistle

I think you really need to go back to your Endo and tell him how awful you feel and question why he wants your fT3/4 so low in range? He surely didn't look at your results properly... so in the last 8 months you have dropped from 150mcg T4 and 40mcg T3 to the above being another reduction based on these results??

No wonder they don't put the ranges on there letter 🙄

Not taking B vits?

Oh yes I forgot I’m taking B vitamins 😉, thanks for your help, I’m going to increase both as I have some spare as I can’t go on feeling like this and see if I feel any improvement 🫰🫰

Not ideal changing 2 things at once but to be honest I did the same after my Endo put me back to bed earlier this year 🤗just take it steady and give time for each dose to settle, let us know how you get on 🤞

Thanks again- I’ll see if anything improves with increasing the Liothyrine first then , and will contact endo ; appreciate your help 😁

Hmm... I'd actually suggest adding in some more T4 first to get that above 50% at least, its irritatingly slow to rise but if you add in more T3 it could drop your fT4 even lower and you'll end up feeling even worse in the long run.... up to you, T3 acts quickly so you'll feel that kick in but it usually needs the balance of both
